"A Simple Meal to Show God's Love"

When the pandemic hit, Richmond's Underground Kitchen (UGK) lost all their business in a matter of weeks. Executive Director Michael Sparks decided to use this as an opportunity to help others. UGK's Community First provides free homemade soups and breads to anyone in the metro Richmond area who needs it. The food is prepared by UGK’s vast network of chefs, with ingredients provided by their food purveyors. The meals are prepared at Roslyn Retreat Center, so the call went out to Episcopal Churches to help serve as volunteers. The CCE community answered the call! Hear volunteer Jane Emrick's story:

"Caring for the Whole Family"

The Foraker Family sought a preschool to teach their children not just the ABCs but also "the bigger things in life." They didn't expect a community that would do that and more: a community that loves and supports their whole family.

We deeply appreciate your support for our shared ministry, done together in the name of Christ Jesus. If you haven't yet pledged your financial support to Christ Church, please consider doing so.

Together, We Give. Together, We Grow.

"Guided by the Spirit"

Krys Meier saw an email in Realm, asking for help. "I was just inspired by it," she says. So begins a witness about how she felt called to provide love and support to those on the front-lines of managing the pandemic. Watch below to experience Krys' story and consider how God uses Christ Church and our community to serve others.

If you are able, please pledge to give to Christ Church in 2021. It helps us to know what you may be able to give. We appreciate your support for our shared ministry, done together in the name of Christ Jesus. Together, We Give.

"Bearing Fruit"

Jesus tell his disciples that some seeds are sown on good soil: they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, more than could be imagined.

We are seeing God's fruit among us now in this unexpected time of pandemic.

Have you seen our new garden-to-be? Troop 735's Charl Miller built the raised garden beds as he works toward the highest achievement in the Scouts BSA program: Eagle Scout.

The garden bed has two levels. The top level will be used by our horticulture ministry to grow flowers throughout the year to glorify God and provide beauty when we gather for worship. The lower level of the garden bed will be used as hands-on educational opportunity for our littlest disciples, the children at our Preschool.

Just one example of good works and God's grace this year!

Help us continue to cultivate flowers, disciples, and much more. We welcome your pledges of financial support so we can continue ministry in Central Virginia and far beyond.

Announcing the Fall Annual Appeal

Funding the mission of Jesus in the world is as important now as ever.

This Sunday, we launch our annual appeal for your financial support. Your gifts make all the work we do possible, from faith formation, pastoral care, mission ministries, and much more.

Jesus tells his disciples that some seeds are sown on good soil: they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, more than could be imagined.

Over the next few weeks, we will share stories of how God's grace and your good actions are bearing fruit even in the midst of a trying year. For now, we invite you to hold this ministry in your prayers and consider Jesus' words:

"And these are the ones sown on good soil: they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty and sixty and a hundred fold."
